PRESS RELEASE – OLLIE RECYCLES - the new kid on the net 5th June 1997 Victorian primary school children will have a chance to meet Ollie at his own web site when they receive their free Ollie Recycles CD ROM this month. Ollie Recycles is an interactive CD ROM being delivered free to Victorian Primary Schools throughout June which highlights key environmental and recycling issues through interactive learning activities and games. The CD ROM is sponsored by Visy Recycling, EcoRecycle and the Beverage Industry Environment Council and is endorsed by the Victorian Primary Principals Association. While the CD ROM is a great way for primary school children to learn important messages about reducing waste, re-using materials and embracing recycling in their everyday life, the Ollie web site provides another layer of information and interactivity. The beauty of the web site is that we can get direct feedback to the project from students emailing the site, while also passing on their recycling tips and school activities to other students. Information about Ollie Recycles' Sponsors and the activities in which they are involved to protect the earth's resources will also be included on the Ollie web site. Ollie Recycles is to be launched on World Environment Day, Thursday 5th June by the Minister for Conservation and Land Management Marie Tehan at the Megabite Internet Café, 176 Wellington Parade, East Melbourne at 11.00am.
