Travelling to create less pollution
The easiest way to cut down air pollution and reduce greenhouse gases is to reduce the amount
we use our cars as well as reducing our use of electricity and gas. We need to rethink when and
why we use the car.
- For short trips, try walking or riding a bike.
- You can take public transport for some longer trips. Try sharing
car trips with friends or family who are travelling the same way –
this is called “car-pooling”.
- Adults should have their cars checked regularly, because well-tuned
cars create less pollution.
- Adults can also convert their cars to liquid petroleum gas (LPG)
as it produces less pollution.
