Energy use in Australia

In Australia, most of our electricity is produced by burning coal. Because we travel long distances, huge quantities of petrol are also used. As a nation we use a lot of energy per person – more than most other countries. Using this much energy releases large amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
