Recycling aluminiumRecycling is so efficient that it can take as few as 60 days for an aluminum can to be collected, melted down and made into a new can sitting on a supermarket shelf. Aluminium does not 'degrade' during the recycling process, which means it can be recycled over and over again. Much of aluminum’s recycle value comes from the energy saved when making aluminum from recycled material: it requires 95% less energy than making new aluminium from bauxite. It takes the same amount of energy to recycle 20 cans as it does to make one can from raw materials!
