Liquidpaperboard Cartons
Milk and juice cartons are made from a material known in Australia as liquidpaperboard.
Liquidpaperboard is not made in Australia, but is imported to use as packaging.
Because liquidpaperboard cartons have other material in them besides fibres, they cannot be
recycled the same way as other types of paper. That is why they need to be put with the cans and
bottles in your recycling box for kerbside collection, not with the waste paper. Check with your
council first to see if liquidpaperboard cartons can be recycled in your neighbourhood.
