Steel Recycling Tips
- Empty steel cans before recycling, give them a rinse in water and
place the can lids inside.
- If your community recycling program accepts steel aerosol cans,
you should empty them through normal use, then place them in your
recycling container.

If your program accepts steel paint tins, you should use up the
paint, leave the cans open so that the thin skin of paint inside
dries out, then place the cans and lids into your recycling container
separately. Some councils do not allow paint tins in kerbside collection,
as some paints can be hazardous waste. You may have to take them
to a drop-off point instead - check with your local council to find
out.
