How the World’s Resources are DistributedAt the moment, people in the richer countries of the world, like Canada, USA, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Western Europe and here in Australia, make up only 20% of the world’s population. But we have more than 80% of all the money in the world, and use about 80% of all the resources in the world. This means that we also use most of the world’s energy supply, and produce most of the waste and most of the pollution. This diagram shows how wealth is distributed throughout the world’s population: More information on Population Distribution Friends of the Earth Europe, 2002.
