          Water Use

Water is a Precious Resource

The water we use in our homes comes from rivers, dams, lakes and sometimes from under the ground. Taking too much water from these places can upset the balance of ecosystems. Fish and other animals and plants can be affected, soils can be ruined and some of the remaining water can become undrinkable.

Water is called a renewable resource, but there is only a limited amount of fresh water available to use at any one time. It is important not to be wasteful, and to leave as much water as possible in our waterways, to keep them healthy.
