Climate Change
The Climate Change and Waste Reduction Program run by NRC, and supported
by the U.S. EPA, is an online forum to demonstrate the connection between
climate change and waste. The aim of the Program is to promote waste
reduction activities as part of state and local Climate Change Action
Plans.
One of the benefits of reducing and recycling waste is a decrease in
greenhouse gas emissions, which can lead to global warming and climate
change. Our Climate Change Program helps communities and governments
learn how to make waste reduction and recycling part of their climate
change planning, and gives them the opportunity to share their experiences
with others doing the same thing around the nation.
