What is Air Pollution?

Air pollution occurs when gases or tiny particles are released into the atmosphere. This is usually caused by burning fossil fuels— coal, oil and gas — or burning wood and other fuels. Most air pollution comes from cars and trucks, factories, power plants, and from home wood heaters.
