Species Diversity
Species Diversity is the total
variety of all the living species
in a region. A species is a type of bird, mammal,
insect, bacteria, fungus or plant, whose members normally breed with
each other to produce healthy offspring. Adult members of the same species
normally look similar but sometimes there are exceptions between male
and female and young and adults. Of all the millions of different species
on Earth, most are animals. The animals with the greatest species diversity
are insects.
