Your Ecological FootprintAn ecological footprint can be calculated for a whole country, a community, a household, or even an individual. In the richer countries of the world, like the United States, most of us use huge amounts of resources and produce large amounts of waste, and so we have a very large ecological footprint. In fact, if everyone on the planet lived the same way as we do here in the United States, we would need five planets to provide enough resources for everyone! And in just fifty years time we would need eight planets! But we only have one Earth. And we must share it between everyone who lives on it.
