Fossil Fuels in the United StatesHere in the United States, we produce large amounts of coal, oil and natural gas. However, since the 1950s, our demand for fossil fuels has grown even larger than our production. The United States currently imports from other countries part of our natural gas requirements and more than half of the oil and petroleum products that we use.
