Alcoa

Kaal
Australia Pty, Limited was formed in 1996, with the acquisition and merger
of Alcoa's rolled products division in Geelong and Comalco's rolled products
division in Sydney. Alcoa Inc. (USA) and Kobe Steel Limited (Japan) each
hold 50 percent of the company.
Kaal Australia is Australia's only manufacturer of aluminium rolled products
and produces rigid container sheet for beverage cans, aluminium foil and
common alloy sheet for building and marine applications. Over 50 percent
of production is exported, mainly to growing markets in Asia.
With operations at Point Henry near Geelong in Victoria, and Yennora
in western Sydney, New South Wales, Kaal Australia has more than 800 employees.
Aluminium Can Group
Alcoa, along with the two major domestic canmakers, form the Aluminium
Can Group. The purpose of the Aluminium Can Group is to monitor recycling-environmental
achievements and to progress domestic aluminium can sales.
