Introduction

The Australian Paper Industry Council (APIC) - formerly known as the Pulp and Paper Manufacturers Federation of Australia - was established in 1981. We are based in Canberra, Australia.

Our mission is to promote and facilitate the operation and development of an Australian pulp and paper industry that is profitable, internationally competitive and ecologically sustainable, by promoting and representing the collective interests of our member companies to the Commonwealth Government and the broader community.

As well as our other activities, we also jointly fund the Australian Pulp and Paper Institute (APPI) at Monash University, Melbourne, which offers short courses and both graduate and post-graduate training in engineering science and pulp and paper technology.
