3. Fundraise
A lot of things that you can do to improve your local environment can
be done using only enthusiasm, time and energy. If you need equipment
(such as tools or materials) try borrowing them or asking for donations
from local businesses. If you need funds to buy equipment or materials,
here are some great ideas for fundraising:
- Hold a school fete or a multicultural-themed festival
- Hold a cake stall at school during recess or lunchtime.
- Get students at school to bring unwanted games or toys, then have
an auction.
- Design and sell T-shirts with your own environmental design or slogan.
- If you can get a refund for glass bottles in your State, have a bottle
collecting drive and deposit the collected bottles for a refund.
- Have a "reuse garage sale" with unwanted items donated from
people in the neighbourhood.
- Organise a music concert or talent quest at school. Get local businesses
to donate prizes, and charge an admission fee.
