Population growth today depends on a number of things. All these factors vary from country to
country and may influence how fast a population grows:
- availability of medicines and health care
- availability of clean water, food and shelter
- availability of education
- availability of social welfare in old age
- emergency food and medical relief during disasters
- the kind of jobs people have and how they live
- the different ways that men and women are viewed in society
- the religions that people practice
- the cultural traditions of the people in that area
