Ollie Helps Open Door with PACIA
The Australian Chemical Industry opened its’ doors to the community
on Saturday 9 October 2004. Open Door is the international event held
every three years whereby chemical companies invite the community to
experience the wonders of plastics and chemicals through on site tours,
displays and activities as well as exciting exhibitions from emergency
services.
Many sites encourage staff to bring their family along as well as other
community groups and many sites provide BBQ’s, raffles, clowns
and amusements for attendees.
At Qenos, located in Altona Melbourne, Ollie made a surprise appearance
delighting the crowd! Ollie met Millie the Milk Bottle who represents
the plastics recycling process and the two had plenty in common - they
are helping to Save the Planet with their sustainability and recycling
messages!
Participating sites in Melbourne included Qenos, Dow Chemical, BASF,
Nufarm, Rhodia and Teris all PACIA members.
A good day was had by all
and people are invited to join in the celebrations for the 20th Anniversary
of Open Door in Australia in 2007.
