Recycle
The USPS has won many awards for being one of America's top recycling
organizations. Not only do we recycle the materials we use, we also buy
more than $200 million worth of recycled products every year!
Instead of disposing of undelivered mail in landfills, we take mail with
bad or unreadable addresses - or mail that can't be forwarded - and recycle
it. We turn it into copy paper, envelopes and boxes. This means that most
of the materials produced by the USPS contain recycled material. Some
products are even made from 100 % recycled paper.
We also recycle computer parts and other electronics as part of our standard
operations.
