Project WET
Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) is a nonprofit water education
program and publisher for educators and young people ages 5-18.
The program
facilitates and promotes awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship
of water resources through the dissemination of classroom-ready teaching
aids and the establishment of state and internationally sponsored Project
WET programs.
The Mission of Project WET is to reach children, parents,
educators, and communities of the world with water education.
The Water Education Foundation works in partnership with Project WET.
As the State’s Project WET Coordinator, we administer the program
in California and train a network of facilitators, who in turn provide
water education workshops for classroom teachers, agency educators, resource
managers, and other educators.
Project WET believes that informed people are more likely to participate
in the decision making process and to make a difference through their
actions.
We invite educators, resource managers, community leaders and
concerned citizens to join Project WET in educating young people about
one of the most precious resources on the planet - water.
