Ollie features in Earth Day celebrations in Washington!!
Earth Day Celebrations on the 22nd April 2005 were a big hit at Waters
Landing Elementary School near Washington thanks to the hard work of
Heather Flanagan, the PTA Chairperson and a committed parent at the school.
Heather worked with members of staff to create whole week of celebrations
revolving around a range of issues and then named each day of this special
week for the occasion. The days were called Recycle Day, Clean Air Day,
Water Conservation Day, Sun Protection Day and Animal Protection Day
and prompted a whole range of exciting activities.
The Ollie Saves the Planet Program was used as part of the week’s
celebrations and was used by many of the students at the school. Heather
stated that "we put the Ollie Program on a large screen so everyone
could watch the games when they come to the library. It was a huge hit
during lunches for our Earth Week celebrations and kids begged to watch
the movies and hear the opening song."
