Brickwood Holdings - Recycling HDPE bottles

Brickwood Holdings logo

In 1989, Brickwood Holdings started up "Full Cycle Plastics" - in recognition of its corporate and community responsibilities. This company joined local government in Victoria and South Australia to instigate kerbside collection of post-consumer HDPE milk and juice bottles. The company purchased the collected plastic bottles, recycled them at the Cheltenham (Melbourne) Full Cycle Plastics plant and investigated ways of reusing the recyclate.

As a result, Brickwood Holdings invested in structural foam low-pressure gas injection technology to manufacture its range of mobile garbage bins and materials handling pallets utilising a high percentage of post-consumer recycled resin.
