Recycle Activities

At Visy, we have built our business around recovering used materials and recycling them into new products.

In 1979 we began supplying our own packaging paper needs and built our first paper recycling mill. The Visy group now operates eight paper recycling machines - six in Australia and two in the USA. Together these machines produce more than 1.2 million tonnes of 100% recycled packaging paper annually.

Kerbside Recycling

The kerbside division of Visy Recycling processes recyclable materials collected from about 2 million households and 50,000 businesses in Australia every week. This is the stage where recyclables are sorted and contaminants removed.

Paper Recycling

Over the past twenty years our paper recovery in Australia has grown from 40,000 to 850,000 tonnes per annum.
