Rethink Activities, continued
The Pratt Foundation
Visy owner, Richard Pratt, and his wife Jeanne established a philanthropic
group in 1978 called the Pratt Foundation. The Foundation gives assistance
to charitable groups and is now of Australia's largest private sources
of philanthropy. The mission of the Pratt Foundation is to "enrich
the lives of our community".
The Pratt Foundation supports a huge number of diverse organisations
and charities, in areas such as:
- Youth and family welfare;
- Indigenous health;
- Community tolerance;
- Environment;
- Arts;
- Education; and
- Medical research
In the decade from 1989 to 1999 alone, the Pratt Foundation donated over
$75 million in direct grants to charities in Australia, the United States
and Israel. Today, the Foundation continues to support a wide range of
worthy causes.
