The 4R’s and Waste
The most important thing to remember when you think about waste is the 4R’s – Reduce, Reuse,
Recycle and Rethink. This means that although landfills, waste to energy plants and other
disposal options are a good way to dispose of waste which can’t be recycled or reused, the most
important thing to do is not to create waste in the first place. So remember to;
- Reduce the amount of waste you create each day.
- Reuse items as much as possible before disposing of them.
- Recycle items made from recyclable materials.
- Rethink your actions every day when you are buying things and using
resources. Try to reduce your consumption and cut out waste in the
first place.
