The
Australian Greenhouse Office (AGO) is the world's first government
agency dedicated to cutting greenhouse gas emissions. It was established
in 1998 as a separate agency to provide a whole of government approach
to greenhouse matters. The AGO delivers the Commonwealth Government's
$1 billion climate change
agenda.

10 is the largest independent hardware retailer in Australia. It
was created in 1959 as a co-operative group of five hardware stores

Origin
Energy has been in business for more than 140 years. It supplies

Plastics
and Chemicals Industries Association (PACIA) represents Australia's
plastics, chemicals, adhesives and sealants industries, with more
than 260 member companies. It provides industry information, training
programs, seminars and forums and plays a key role in Australian
and international industry regulatory affairs. PACIA also promotes
safe disposal of plastics and chemical
wastes.
Publishers
National Environment Bureau (PNEB) was formed in 1990 by Australian
newspaper and magazine publishing companies to help increase the
recycling and recovery rate of old newspapers and magazines. At
that time, only 28 per cent of newsprint used in Australia was recycled.
By 2001, this had risen
to 72.4 percent, one of the highest in the world.

Industries was established in Melbourne, in 1948 and is now one
of the world's largest privately-owned paper recycling and packaging
companies. Visy provides cardboard packaging such as boxes, PET
plastic drink bottles, HDPE plastic drums and bottles, steel plate
and aluminium cans and liquidpaperboard cartons. Its recycling services
collect or process material from nearly 2 million households and
about 40,000 businesses every
week.
Beverage Industry Environment Council (BIEC) and its member companies
are a leading force in the development of environmentally responsible
waste management practices. They actively support the development
of the extensive kerbside recycling infrastructure in Australia
in co-operation with Federal, State and local Government. BIEC has
made significant contributions to the reduction of litter in Australia.
BIEC activities are funded through a voluntary levy system on the
sale of beer and soft drink.
EcoRecycle Victoria is a major part of the Victorian Government's
strategy to eliminate unnecessary waste and promote the sustainable
use of Victoria's resources. EcoRecycle has the responsibility for
minimising waste, optimising the recovery for beneficial purposes
of any waste created and managing residual waste in a way which
protects the environment.
Visy
Recycling is Australia's leading waste paper recycler and is part
of the Visy Industries group - Australia's largest manufacturer
of corrugated cardboard boxes made from 100% recycled paper. Each
year Visy Recycling collects and recycles more than 650,000 tonnes
of waste paper and cardboard. That amount of paper is equivalent
to
more than 8.5 million trees.
